The Farmer & Chef

Stacey Givens is the Farmer, Chef, and Owner of Side Yard Farm & Kitchen. Raised in a big Greek family in Southern California, she learned the art of growing, foraging, and preserving from her mother and Yiayia. After years in kitchens across California and Oregon, Stacey planted roots in Portland, where she pioneered a seed-to-plate, farm-to-table dining model that combined regenerative farming with culinary creativity.

Her whole plant cooking philosophy celebrates every stage of the plant, from the stems, to the blossoms, seeds, and leaves, transforming them into dishes that are resourceful, surprising, and above all, delicious. What started as a Portland urban farm ten years ago became a movement to bring people together, known for her farm brunches, drag shows, bike-in movies, and BIPOC Farmers Markets, and community grief groups.

Now, Stacey brings this vision to the Rogue Valley, expanding Side Yard into Phoenix, Oregon. This new farm and kitchen is an act of love for her family, and deepens her mission: sustainable farming, seasonal dining, and community events that connect people to the land, and each other.
