From Portland to the Rogue Valley, With Love

For the past 16 years, Side Yard Farm & Kitchen has been a cornerstone of Portland’s food community, known for its seed to plate meals, immersive food experiences, and community events in the middle of a thriving one acre urban farm. Now, Farmer, Chef & Owner Stacey Givens is planting new roots in Phoenix, Oregon, bringing her seed to plate philosophy and whole plant cooking to the beautiful Rogue Valley. Here, Side Yard will open a dining and event space, where food, farming, and community all come together around the table.

Opening October 2025!

Rooted in Portland, Growing in the Rogue Valley

What began on a small Portland urban farm has now blossomed into a nationally recognized place known for championing local and sustainable dining, as well as building impactful community events. Stacey’s move to Phoenix is not about leaving behind what she created, it’s about expanding it. With fertile soil and a vibrant new community, the Rogue Valley offers a fresh chapter for seed to plate cooking, regenerative farming, and community centered events. When you walk into the space, you are walking into her dining room. This 600 sq. ft room is made to give you those nostalgic Sunday family dinner feels. With communal seating and family style service, you wine and dine with your neighbors and have a chance to connect. If you feel like saying something to the chefs, go for it, they will be plating up right in front of you and might even ask for your hand in garnishing the plates with edible flowers & herbs.

Expanding the Table

Side Yard has always celebrated connection through food. In Phoenix, we carry forward these traditions, expanding with new monthly dining experiences and community gatherings that reflect the spirit of Southern Oregon.

Farm Dinners & Brunches: Operating on a reservation-only basis with two seatings per dinner or brunch. All menus are pre-fixed, multi-course and created around what is growing on the farm. Seating is in a communal setting and feels like one big family dinner.

Monthly cooking classes: These unique educational experiences begin with a visit to our family farm only 3 miles away, where participants harvest and learn about the ingredients they'll be using, from seed to plate. Then its back to the kitchen to do some cooking and then sit down for a meal together.

Farm Shop: A taste of the farm throughout the year. Offering goods from lovage pestos, dressings, jams, pickles, spice blends, seasoning salts, sugars, produce and more. During the spring season, check out our selection of plant starts for your garden. March-May.

Pop Ups & Chef Residencies: A line up of chefs and makers from Rogue Valley, Portland and beyond will be invited to host pop ups in our space, collab on events and do takeover months.

Catering & Venue Rental: Our cozy 30 seat brick and mortar is available for private events of all kinds. From intimate birthdays and rehearsal dinners to team retreats, workshops, farm to table celebrations, weddings, and more. We’ll craft a seasonal, whole-plant menu and set a beautiful table to match your vision.

Planting New Roots

The original Portland farm proved that abundance could flourish, even on a single acre of land in the middle of a city neighborhood. In Phoenix, our Rogue Valley farm expands that vision with more room to grow, more flavors to explore, and more opportunities to connect. Here, Stacey’s whole plant cooking philosophy guides everything we do, from seed, to plate.
